Follow Safe Vahan Policy

Amritsar: The District Education Department has asked all schools to follow the Safe School Vahan Policy. The team responsible for the implementation of the policy conducted inspections in number of schools, recently. The department has asked schools to follow rules. Failing to do so would invite penalty, said officials. TNS 

Anganwadi workers protest

Amritsar: A number of Anganwadi workers from Amritsar block 2 staged a protest against the state government outside the house of Member of Parliament Gurjeet Aujla today. Workers are against the decision to start pre-primary classes in government schools. Protesters used spoons as well plates to express their anger and pain. Gurminder Kaur, a protester said, “This is a wrong move. It will have a detrimental impact on us.” Mandeep, Rajwinder Verka, Surinder Kaur and others were present during the protest. TNS

Placement drive at CKD Institute 

Amritsar: A placement drive was held at CKD Institute of Management and Technology (CKDIMT). Tommy Hilfinger, an American multinational corporation conducted the drive. Students from BSc (ATHM), BCom, BBA, BCA and MBA participated in the placement drive. Three students, including the two MBAs, Navkiran Gill, Palak Kalra, besides Malti Mehra from BSc (ATHM), were selected by the company. They were offered attractive package of Rs 3.50 LPA plus lucrative incentives. TNS
