Free X-ray for TB patients

AMRITSAR: With an aim to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) from Punjab by 2025, the state government has started a free X-ray facility for the patients at the government hospitals here.

With an aim to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) from Punjab by 2025, the state government has started a free X-ray facility for the patients at the government hospitals here.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamaldeep Singh Sangha said, “The Health Department has also decided to provide nutritious food to the Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) TB patients. Necessary instructions regarding free X-ray facility has been given to Civil Surgeons. The deparment is taking necessary steps to bring MDR TB patients under the ambit of Atta-Dal scheme of the government and blue colour cards would be issued to these patients soon.”

He said elderly, children, people living in slums and diabetes patients are more susceptible to the disease.
