Fuel station owners told to construct public toilets

AMRITSAR: The Municipal Corporation today asked petrol pump owners to construct public toilets on their premises.



Amritsar, November 17

The Municipal Corporation today asked petrol pump owners to construct public toilets on their premises.

A meeting regarding sanitation facilities at petrol pumps of the city was held at the Municipal Corporation office.

It was held under the supervision of municipal health officer Dr Raju Chowan and representatives of petrol pumps attended it.

Dr Chowan told the representatives that it was the duty of the petrol pump owners to provide required sanitation facilities to the general public.

He said that owners must install signboards about the availability of public toilet at the petrol station to facilitate people. Dr Chowan strictly asked representatives to maintain cleanliness around 100 m of the petrol pump.

He also instructed the chief sanitary inspector and sanitary inspector to monitor the drive. — TNS
