Amritsar, January 21
Two days after arresting gangster Varun Kumar, the CIA staff finally confirmed his arrest. Varun is said to be associated with notorious gangsters Shubham and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. Earlier, the police had denied arresting him. ADCP (Crime) HS Dhaliwal announced his arrest at a press conference here today. He said 1,000 intoxicating tablets and a .32 bore country-made pistol with five live rounds were seized. A car has also been impounded.
The ADCP said he was brought on police remand and interrogation was on to ascertain the whereabouts of his accomplices and gangsters.
