The Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) today observed the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur. Divine kirtan was followed by bhog of akhand path conducted in Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib on the pious occasion of the 342th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur.
An aura of mysticism and spirituality filled the entire CKD campus by a mesmerizing rendition of religious hymns by students of Central Khalsa Orphanage and various CKD schools and teachers.
President, CKD, Charanjit Singh Chadha urged the students to get lessons from the life of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur who sacrificed his life for Kashmiri Pandits and gave the message of oneness of humanity, selfless service and righteousness.
He said, “CKD principals are to organize religious activities from time to time in order to associate children with their religious values, beliefs and roots.”
A prize distribution ceremony was held by the CKD management to award the winners of Gurbani Kanth Competition held recently by the Dharam Parchar Committee.
General Secretary of the Chief Khalsa Diwan Committee, Kanpur, Bhajanbeer Singh and Harkrishan Singh Bhatti from Chicago were also honored by the Chief Khalsa Diwan management.
CKD President S Charanjit Singh Chadha, vice-president Dhanraj Singh, resident president Nirmal Singh, honorary secretary Dr Dharam Veer Singh and CKD principals were present on the occasion.
