The Punjab State Ministerial Services Union has criticised the State government for practicing discrimination in the release of interim relief for different categories of employees before the Pay Commission's report.

At a meeting of the executive body of the union, president Dalbir Singh Bajwa said that while IAS officers have been given an interim relief of 15 per cent, other employees have been given only 5 per cent. He said that it is an act of discrimination.

The union’s general secretary, Jagdish Thakur, demanded that the government should immediately release 10 per cent interim relief for all categories of employees. He said that the officials who are already drawing more pay have been given relief but employees with lesser pay have been denied the benefit.
