New director of medical education

AMRITSAR: The Head of the Gynaecology Department of Government Medical College, Dr Sujata Sharma, has been appointed as new Director of the Medical Education and Research Department.

The Head of the Gynaecology Department of Government Medical College, Dr Sujata Sharma, has been appointed as new Director of the Medical Education and Research Department. Dr Sharma has also been appointed Registrar of the Punjab Medical Council by the government.

The appointment has been made after the earlier Director, Dr Manjit Kaur Mohi, attained the age of 58 years. As per the norms, an employee cannot be appointed on an administrative post after the age of 58 years, said official sources. Dr Sujata Sharma had earlier served as Medical Superintendent of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.
