Amritsar, September 12

A city-based NGO Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Amritsar Central today kicked off a drive to help underprivileged TB patients by distributing medicines, fruits and other items among them.

The items were distributed among 100 patients at the TB Hospital. The BVP president, Prof HS Walia, said it was decided by the executive committee of the parishad to provide help to patients either financially or in kind on the occasion of the birthdays of their members.

A district TB forum was constituted in which the district TB officer, Dr Naresh Chawla, Prof Walia and RD Sharma would be instrumental in helping poor TB patients.
