NGOs resolve to protect ecology

The District Library, in collaboration with Mission Aagaaz, organised a meeting on the issue of “Ecology and mankind”, attended by members of several other NGOs.

The meet was dedicated to celebrating 16 days of activism against gender-based violence campaign, called by the UN the world over.

Many members of the library and activists of various NGOs participated and discussed various issues related to environmental pollution including strict implementation of the ban on plastic strings used for kite flying, overpopulation, violence against women and animals and civic issues like garbage management.

A common manifesto was also drafted by the NGO for running an active awareness campaign on the above mentioned issues. “Since civil society members are the most important link in bringing about a change, we pledged to engage citizens in finding solutions and implementing them against the social problems being faced by all. The meeting was a part of our initiative to get the people talking about such problems,” said Deepak Babbar from Mission Aghaaz.

All those who attended, pledged to safeguard and work for ecology.
