Pingalwara girl ties the knot

Jaswant Kaur, an inmate of the Pingalwara’s home for destitute, got married to Jagbir Singh at a ceremony organised by her Pingalwara family. Jaswant has spent most of her life at Pingalwara. She completed her studies from the school-run by the Pingalwara society.

“This is the 39th girl from Pingalwara to get married and we are proud to have raised such wonderful girls, who were left by their own families,” said Dr Inderjit Kaur, Director, All India Pingalwara Charitable Society.

Dressed in traditional red attire, Jagbir seemed happy. She said she was elated that her Pingalwara family was present on her special day.
