PITEX to be organised from December 7

AMRITSAR: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in collaboration with the state government will host the five-day 12th edition of the Punjab International Trade Exhibition (PITEX) here from December 7.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in collaboration with the state government will host the five-day 12th edition of the Punjab International Trade Exhibition (PITEX) here from December 7.

State Industries and Commerce Director DPS Kharbanda said Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh would formally inaugurate the PITEX on December 8.

Jaideep Singh, Amritsar zone convener of the PHDCCI, said the mega event invariably attracts a large number of visitors and the last edition had witnessed footfall of 2.5 lakh visitors and generated business queries worth over Rs 250 crore.

He anticipated that the exhibition would open new avenues of networking and scale up the business in the state as entrepreneurs from all over the country and seven other nations would take part in it.

He said a good number of participants from neighboring SAARC countries would participate this year.

Jaideep added that the ministries of MSME and Textile and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) confirmed their support to the event.

Besides food processing, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Shawl Club, Textiles Manufacturers Association (TMA) will support the mega exhibition.
