A meeting of the district task force for control of polio was organised by the District Health Department at Jallianwala Bagh Martyrs Memorial Civil Hospital here today.

Besides officials of the district administration, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Vikas Hira, Civil Surgeon, Dr Pardeep Chawla, senior medical officers of various blocks, members of the Indian Medical Association and representatives of various departments, including Power Corporation, Roadways, Police, Education, members of Rotary Clubs and Principals of various nursing colleges.

Dr Chawla said the purpose of the meeting was to take stock of preparations made for the three-day polio immunisation drive starting from April 2 and assign duties to officials of various government departments.
