Production of power from landfills

Prateek Dhawan, son of a local medical officer, has come with a proposal for electricity generation from municipal waste landfill sites across the state.

Prateek Dhawan, who has been working with a USA-based firm, told newsmen that the project worked at the garbage dumps and solid waste management sites. “The project, by producing electricity from waste, will be helpful in getting rid of the waste in the cleanest possible way,” he said. According to Dhawan, he has been in touch with government agencies and hope that he will get a positive response. — OC
