Amritsar, February 17

An assistant junior engineer of the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) was attacked by two persons in Patti Baath village in Tarsikka recently. Identified as Jagtar Singh and Jagroop Singh, they have been booked.

Kabal Singh, posted at the PSPCL complaint centre in Tarsikka, told the police that he along with other employees had gone to the residence of Kehar Singh to collect pending payment for power bills. On their way, they stumbled upon a ‘kundi’ connection so removed the wires and came to Tarsikka. Enraged over this, Jagtar and Jagroop came on a motorcycle and attacked him with a bike chain. According to Kabal Singh, some people of the area tried to strike a compromise between them. Sikander Lal, investigating officer, said the accused had been booked. No arrest has been made so far. — TNS
