Amritsar, June 12

The regional transport office (RTO) will have the digital token system, waiting area for visitors and a separate window for elderly, said Member of Parliament (MP) Gurjeet Singh Aujla on Tuesday. He visited the driving test centre for the renewal of his driving licence.

He inspected the entire premises and the service centre. He gave standing instructions to the management and the RTO to immediately start a digital token system so that applicants might not have to stand in queues. He also instructed to arrange for a well-ventilated waiting area for the applicants with drinking water facility and a separate window for the elderly.

Briefing about the visit, Aujla said he had gone to the centre to get his licence renewed but the applicants approached him with their issues. He said the test facility was close to the Army area so adding another floor to the complex was not possible. In spite of space limitation, the centre is trying to provide best possible services, he said.

According to the Member of the Parliament, he issued certain instructions for the facilitation of the applicants which would bring some relief to the applicants.
