Rs 47 lakh fraud by banker

AMRITSAR: The Ajnala police have booked a clerk of Cooperative Bank in Ajnala for allegedly bungling Rs 46.82 lakh from the accounts of different account holders.

The Ajnala police have booked a clerk of Cooperative Bank in Ajnala for allegedly bungling Rs 46.82 lakh from the accounts of different account holders. Suresh Kumar, branch manager of the Cooperative Bank’s Ajnala branch, had lodged a police complaint about it.

The accused has been identified as Sikander Singh, a resident of Gulmohar Avenue, Indira Colony, located on the Majitha road. He is yet to be arrested as has been on the run. The case was investigated by DSP (Investigations).

The police said raids were on nab him and further probe was under progress. — TNS
