A fresh case of sacrilege of gutka (a handy book of prayer) has been reported in Bhittewad village of Ajnala.
As per information, the incident came to light on April 3 evening when the passers-by found 20 to 25 half- burnt pages of the gutka scattered in a street.
They collected the same and handed over to an employee of a gurdwara, Dilbagh Singh. Later, the matter was brought to the notice of SGPC member Surjit Singh Bhittewad. He informed the police about the incident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajasansi, Amandeep Kaur, along with her team reached the spot and started investigation.
“We have lodged a case in this regard and efforts are on to nab the culprits,” she said.
Surjit Singh Bhittewad said they had demanded a probe into the incident so that the guilty be brought to book.
