Tarn Taran, July 1

More than 150 women hockey players, under training at Sri Guru Arjun Dev Academy, along with their parents held a protest in the town, demanding reinstatement of Ferozepur DSP Daljit Singh Dhillon, who has been placed under suspension for his alleged involvement in making women drug addicts.

The hockey players claimed that Dhillon had nothing to do with drug peddling and he was made a scapegoat by some conspirators.

They said Daljit Singh Dhillon had been helping them out by providing hockey sticks, uniforms and other necessary items for the promotion of sports. Dhillon has been a hockey Olympian. During his stint in the city, he used to visit the academy and guide the girls. — OC
