Tarn Taran: Onkar Singh (20), a resident of Thatha village, 25 km from here, has been booked for allegedly abducting and raping a Class X student of the same village. The police said that the incident took place 10 days ago and the case was registered on Sunday when the victim managed to escape from the accused. The police said he had taken away at night when her family members were asleep. He had promised to marry her. He is said to be at large. A case under Sections 366 and 376 of the IPC has been registered against him. — OC
