Teachers up in arms

TARN TARAN: Representatives of different teachers'' organisations under the banner of ‘Sarkari School Sikhia Bachao Manch’, Punjab (Save Government School Education) in its district body meeting organised here on Thursday lodged strong protest against filing of charge-sheets against the teachers opposing non-educational work assigned to them by the Education Department.

Representatives of different teachers' organisations under the banner of ‘Sarkari School Sikhia Bachao Manch’, Punjab (Save Government School Education) in its district body meeting organised here on Thursday lodged strong protest against filing of charge-sheets against the teachers opposing non-educational work assigned to them by the Education Department.

 The teachers have been opposing the department’s scheme ‘Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab’ and have also given call for boycotting the non-educational works assigned to them. 

District Education Officer (Elementary)Mukesh Chander Joshi said as many as 33 teachers of different government elementary schools have been issued charge-sheets against their alleged non-cooperative attitude towards the department’s schemes .
