Amritsar, June 17
Acting on a tip-off, the police have arrested three members of a robbers' gang. Two of their accomplices managed to dodge the police party and fled away from the spot. Those arrested have been identified as Amritpal Singh, Gurpreet Singh, both residents of Chhajalwadi village, and Amandeep Singh of Wadala Kalan. A country-made pistol of .315 bore, two cartridges and two sharp-edge weapons were seized from their possession. SSP (Rural) Parampal Singh said the Satnam Singh and another unknown person slipped away on a bike taking the advantage of darkness. A case has been registered and raids are on to nab the absconders, the SSP added. — TNS
