Twentytwo-year-old found dead under mysterious circumstances

AMRITSAR: A 22-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the backside of the Police Commissioner’s office today morning.

A 22-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the backside of the Police Commissioner’s office today morning. The victim has been identified as Mani, a resident of Gawalmandi.

According to information, the body of the victim was lying in a plot. Some passerby spotted the body and informed the police. Police officials from the Cantonment police station reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The deceased was lying barefoot. Initially, the police suspected that he was murdered. Soon, the family members of the victim reached the spot and identified the body. They informed the police that the victim was missing from last night and they were searching for him. They told the police that he was suffering from some chronic diseases and some internal attack may have led to his death.

On the statement of family members, the Cantonment police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC in this regard. SHO of Cantonment police stated that the body had been sent for an autopsy to the Civil Hospital. “We will check the post-mortem report and take action accordingly,” said the SHO.
