An exhibition “The brides of India” by Wedding Mantra opened at Golden Tulip here today to cater to young brides, whose wedding journey is about to begin.

The two-day event aims to capture in essence the fairytale romance of the wedding gala. Showcasing the latest collections from the wedding industry and lifestyle sectors, the product profile consists of wedding jewels, trousseau fashion in peppy hues, courted inspired lehenga-cholis, royal wedding wear, festive shopping, traditional and fashion jewellery, wedding accessories, lifestyle refinements, home decor, footwear, bags, Diwali gifts and lots more.

With 60 designers sourced from all over the country, each aspect of the big, fat Punjabi wedding has been catered to. Binti Kumar, organiser of the Wedding Mantra, says, “It is one stop shop for brides to plan their wedding.”

He say, “A bride always dreams of a perfect wedding. Brides of India helps the bride to create an incredible canvas comprising the best in the world of glamour, ethnic as well as fusion design wear. The concept of affordable fashion is here to stay. Designers are coming from Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh Ludhiana, Kolkata, Jalandhar, Jaipur with their out of the box glittering ideas that will make the difference from boring to wow.” A special preview show was also held to highlight the collections by some established fashion designers.

Midnight surprise

Another high-on-fashion event, the Indo-Pak midnight shopping festival opened at MK International with a mix of trends from the neighbouring country. Pakistani designers have become a regular at fashion events across the country as their ethnic chic fashion trends took the country by storm. The exhibition has 50 designers with best of ethnic traditional festive collections. Understanding the process of shopping and pleasantly surprising their shoppers with the extended experience, the Indo-Pak fashion Street will be open till 11pm.
