Vehicle lifter, two snatchers nabbed

The Division B police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two snatchers and a vehicle lifter. As many as seven motorcycles and mobile phones have been seized.

Those arrested were identified as Kulwant Singh, alias Dhama, and Sukhdev Singh, both residents of Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, and Deepak Singh of Dhapai located on Jhabal road.

Parvesh Chopra, SHO, Division B police station, said, “Sunita Devi of Partap Bazaar lodged a complaint on Friday that two motorcycle-borne persons had snatched her purse containing a mobile phone and gold jewellery.”

He said an alert was sounded and the police zeroed in on Kulwant and Sukhdev. Both were arrested and the snatched items were seized from them. Their bike has also been seized. During interrogation, the police also impounded two more motorcycles.

Meanwhile, acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed Deepak with a stolen motorcycle. His interrogation led to the recovery of three more bikes, Chopra added.
