Amritsar, March 21

Residents of posh housing board colony at Ranjit Avenue are unhappy with the non-functioning of tubewell in their area.

GS Bedi, a resident of the area, said the tubewell in the locality has been out of order for the last two months. The water consumption was less in winters and the residents managed with low supplies of water from some other water pumps. However, with the onset of summer the demand of water is growing, which is adding to the problem each day especially for childrens and senior citizens.

Another resident of the colony Col (retd) BS Bhullar said, repeated complaints were filed to draw the attention of authorities but it did not serve the purpose.

A complaint numbered 73372 was lodged on the government’s grievance apps and another complaint numbered 1263 was lodged on the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority site.

Another resident Col (retd) Tarlochan Singh said, we are regularly paying our water bills and about 2000 houses in the colony are suffering from acute shortage of water.

Deepti Uppal, Chief Administrator, Amritsar Development Authority, said the complaint has been marked to the Executive Engineer, Public Health and the matter would be resolved soon.
