With 30 more patients, count reaches 629

AMRITSAR: The District Health Department has reported 30 new cases of dengue here today.

Amritsar, September 30

The District Health Department has reported 30 new cases of dengue here today. With this number the count of dengue patients in district has reached 629. On average around 30 to 40 positive cases of dengue are reported from the district each day.

District epidemiologist, Dr Madan Mohan, said teams of the Health Department were continuously monitoring the situation. He said timely action and awareness campaigns helped the department in checking causalities due to the disease.

Information about one death in the district due to dengue has been received in the current season. Dr Mohan said the review committee was yet to give its report on cause of the death.
