Under the directions of Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Jagtar Singh Brar, as many as 140 village scouts received training in cotton farming.
During a training session, Dr Jatinder Singh Brar, in-charge Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda; Dr Amarjit Singh, in-charge FASS, Krishi Vigyan Kendra; and pesticide scientist Dr Prabhjot Kaur informed the scouts about the steps being taken to check whitefly and other cotton diseases.
Training officer Dr Kanwal Kumar told the scouts to work diligently in promoting good practices of cotton farming. He directed them to send survey reports to the block officers concerned timely. He said if any scout faces any problem, he should immediately contact the block agriculture officer concerned.
The Chief Agriculture Officer congratulated the scouts who had worked hard during the last season. He said survey reports be sent timely in the prescribed proforma so that any kind of pest attack could be prevent.
