BATHINDA: Two persons died in two accidents in the last 24 hours in the district.

Two persons died in two accidents in the last 24 hours in the district. The Canal Colony police and the Bathinda Sadar police have registered two cases.

In the first incident, in a complaint lodged by Manga Singh, a resident of Paras Ram Nagar, it has been alleged that his brother Sunny was riding a bicycle near Punsup Godown.

Baljot Singh, a resident of the same colony, who was riding a motorcycle (PB-30B-5530 hit) hit him. The accused was going too fast, he added

“We took Sunny to a hospital where doctors declared him dead,” he said. A case has registered against Baljot Singh under Sections of 304A, 279 and 427 of the IPC at the Canal Colony police station on the basis of the statement of Manga Ram.

Investigating officer Ranjeet Singh said the police had started investigation and the accused would be held soon.

In the second incident, in a complaint lodged by Angrej Singh, a resident of the Multania road area, it has been alleged that his brother Dharampal Singh was going to Bathinda on a three-wheeler (PB-03AJ-6990).

An Ace tempo (PB03-AJ-3821) hit the three-wheeler as the accused driver, Inderjeet Singh, a resident of Baba Farid Nagar, was driving fast, he said.

His brother Dharampal Singh died on the spot. A case has been registered at the Bathinda Sadar police station under Sections of 304A, 279 and 427 of the IPC. Investigating officer Jagir Singh said they had started investigation and accused would be held soon. — TNS
