Bathinda: The CIA-2 wing of the Bathinda police, with the Sangat police, recovered three quintals of poppy husk from a truck at Pathrala village. Two persons were arrested on the spot and the third was arrested later. The police produced them in a local court, which sent them to police remand till February 27. Tarjinder Singh, in-charge of the CIA-2 wing of the Bathinda police, said police parties stopped a truck (PB-11-AQ-9975), which was coming from Rajasthan and going to Sangrur. During search, the police recovered three quintals of poppy husk. The police arrested Gurcharan Singh, a resident of Barnala and Mohammad Nasir, a resident of Malerkotla, on the spot and Sikander Singh, a resident of Sangrur, was arrested later. A case under Sections 15, 25, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Nandgarh police station. — TNS
