Mansa, January 19
Mansa Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta today ordered checks to see punctuality among government servants deputed in different departments across the district. As many as 63 officials were found absent from duty without any written or verbal communication to the office head concerned.
The check was conducted by four teams in all government departments. These teams were headed by Assistant Commissioner Om Parkash, grade-1 superintendent Ramesh Bassi, grade-II superintendent Jagsir Singh and superintendent (revenue) Sushil Kumar.
The teams reached government offices from 9 am to 9.30 am and noted down the names and designation of all government servants who were found absent.
The Deputy Commissioner ordered strict action against erring officials.
The list of the officials found absent from their offices during the surprise check included 12 employees of the office of the executive engineer of Canal Department, Jawaharke, five each of the Water Supply and Sanitation Department and office of XEN-drainage and nine employees of the Agriculture Department. — TNS
