9 booked under POCSO Act

BATHINDA: The Canal Colony police have booked nine persons, including five unidentified, under the POCSO Act for misbehaving with a 15-year-old girl, a resident of Lal Singh Basti, Bathinda.

The Canal Colony police have booked nine persons, including five unidentified, under the POCSO Act for misbehaving with a 15-year-old girl, a resident of Lal Singh Basti, Bathinda.

In a complaint, the girl has alleged that Amandeep Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Tarun Kumar, residents of Lal Singh Basti, and Monu, a resident of Arjun Nagar, misbehaved with her.

She said they were drunk and caught her arm. She also alleged that Amandeep Singh followed her as she went to her school.

Investigating officer Raghuveer Singh said a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 354, 354A, 341 and 149 of the IPC and POCSO Act 2012.

The police have started investigation and accused will be held soon, he added.
