Bathinda, May 22
A delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs today met Bathinda Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Naveen Singla. They submitted a memorandum demanding cancellation of cases registered against protesters during the 10- year rule of the SAD-BJP government.
Talwandi Sabo MLA Prof Baljinder Kaur, Bathinda Rural MLA Rupinder Rubi, Maur MLA Jagdev Singh Kamalu and Badaur MLA Pirmal Singh were part of the delegation.
“Fighting for our rights is our main democratic right, but the ruling governments have always committed atrocities on the protesters to suppress them,” they stated.
They have also alleged that the SAD-BJP had surpassed all limits as they had not only beaten protesters but had also booked them in fake cases. MLA Rupinder Kaur Ruby said today they had met the SSP and demanded that false cases registered against jobless protesters should be cancelled at the earliest.
She said AAP had always fought for the rights of the people. The party would stand by the people and if situation arises, it would also come out on roads and raise the voice of the people in the Vidhan Sabha.
Before elections, AAP had announced that it would cancel all fake cases registered against protesters if it comes to power.
