Bathinda, January 15

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ticket aspirant from Bathinda (Urban) Anil Kumar Jain, along with his supporters, today joined the Congress in the presence of Congress candidate Manpreet Singh Badal at Bathinda Press Club.

Anil Kumar Jain said he had joined AAP solely over its principles, but now, it seemed that the party had diverted from its agenda.

He said he worked hard for the party but it was sad to see its volunteers being sidelined.

Jain said he would work for Manpreet Badal and make sure he won with highest margin in the state.

While talking to mediapersons, Manpreet Badal on Capt Amarinder Singh taking on Parkash Singh Badal in Lambi, said it was for the first time in history that a former and incumbent chief ministers would be contesting against each other.

He said, “Only a lion can compete with a lion.”

He termed the decision of Capt Amarinder Singh as brave and said Lambi election would be very interesting this time.

Manpreet said it was a well-planned strategy of the Congress and was deliberately kept in suspense.

The Congress leader also claimed that as only one person from a family was allowed to contest the election, Capt Amarinder Singh would fight from two seats — Lambi and Patiala.

Congress leaders Rajan Garg, KK Aggarwal, Mohan Lal Jhumba, Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, Pawan Mani, Harmesh Pakka and others were present on the occasion.
