The Society for Promotion of Quality Education for Poor and Meritorious Students of Punjab, Punjab School Education Board, has issued a notice announcing the registration for admission to Class XI in 10 meritorious schools based in Amritsar, Bathinda, Hakumat Singh Wala village in Ferozpur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Patiala and Ghabdhan village in Sangrur in the non-medical, medical and commerce streams and Talwara township for only girls in the commerce and humanities streams.
The registration for admission will commence with effect from April 18 and will go on till April 30, 5pm. Students who hope to score minimum 55 per cent (general category) and 50 per cent (SC/ST) or more marks in the Class X board examinations conducted by the Punjab School Education Board in the academic year 2017-18 are eligible to apply.
The notice has also clarified that apart from students of government schools, students of Dashmesh Girls Senior Secondary School, Badal, Dashmesh Senior Secondary School, Talwandi Sabo in Bathinda, Dashmesh Senior Secondary School, Kotla Sultan in Amritsar and Adarsh Schools affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board under the RMSA/PEDB/PP mode can also apply.
The registration fees shall be Rs 200 (refundable in case of candidates who fail to score the requisite marks in the matriculation examination).
