Athletic meet held

BATHINDA: Baba Farid College organised its second annual athletic meet.

Baba Farid College organised its second annual athletic meet. Gidderbaha DSP Rajpal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. College vice-principal Kulwinder Singh motivated the students to participate in sports. Students took part in the meet with full enthusiasm under the supervision of Assistant Prof Harvinder Singh, Department of Physical Education and Parkash Singh.

Students of various classes participated in the track and field events such as 800m, 400m 200 and 100m races, shot put, discus throw and long jump. An informal tug of war was also organised between the teams of different classes.

Chandni Parjapat (BA, Part-III) was adjudged the best athlete (women) and Navkaran Sharma (BA Part-III) was adjudged the best athlete (men). The overall trophy of the athletic meet was grabbed by BA Part-III students.

The chairman of the Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Dr Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, gave away prizes to the winners. He congratulated the organisers and students. BD Sharma, deputy director (activities) Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Harpal Singh, deputy director (facilities), Baba Farid College, Dr Pardeep Kaura, deputy director (academics), Baba Farid Group of Institutions and other guests were also present during this event. Prof Buta Singh and Prof Iqbal Singh conducted the stage.
