The boys’ team of Bathinda and the girls’ team of Moga won the 62nd Punjab State School Kabaddi (U-17) Games here today.
All matches of the tournament were played at the Multipurpose Sports Stadium.
Boys’ category
Hosts Bathinda defeated Kapurthala 43-19 in the final to lift the trophy. In the third position match, Moga trounced Taran Tarn 28-18 to bag the third place, In the semifinals, Kapurthala edged past Moga 38-37 and Bathinda defeated Taran Tarn 31-24.
Girls’ category
Moga defeated Roopnagar 49-21 in final match to win the tournament. In the third position match, Ludhiana thrashed Muktsar 33-8 to secure the third place.
In the semifinals, Roopnagar defeated Muktsar 40-26 and Moga trounced Ludhiana 27-7.
Assistant Education Officer Pavittar Kaur gave away the prizes to the winning team.
DPS Ambala girls win basketball tourney
The three-day Inter DPS Basket Ball Tournament (girls) won by DPS Ambala. The tournament was being organised by Delhi Public School Bathinda.
DPS Jakhri were ruuner-up while DPS Jalandhar bagged the third position.—TNS
