City gets 6 gold in taekwondo meet

BATHINDA: Sportspersons brought laurels to the city by winning 16 medals, including six gold, in the 12th national taekwondo championship.

Sportspersons brought laurels to the city by winning 16 medals, including six gold, in the 12th national taekwondo championship.

The championship was played at Hyderabad from October 14-16. It was organised by the National Taekwondo Board of India.

Team manager Prince said in the Under- 14 girls 33-36 kg category, Sonali won gold and in 36-29 kg category, Khushi won gold.

In Under-14 boys 30 kg category, Mandeep Singh, in 35 kg category Pulkit and in 41 kg category, Jagsir won gold medals.

In Under-17 55 kg category, Nikhil won gold, in 45 kg Bhargav won silver and Suraj won bronze and in 48 kg category, Pankaj won a silver medal.

In Under-14, 41 kg category, Love Chobey won silver and in 45 kg Prince won silver medals.
