Cong, AAP leaders ahead of SAD

BATHINDA: Congress and AAP candidates are ahead of SAD candidates in poll expenditure in the district, as per the Election Commission records till the campaigning ended on February 2.

Congress and AAP candidates are ahead of SAD candidates in poll expenditure in the district, as per the Election Commission records till the campaigning ended on February 2.

As many as 60 candidates contested on the six seats in the district.

As per the Election Commission guidelines, each candidate is allowed to incur poll expenditure up to Rs 28 lakh.

Although the campaigning ended on February 2, the cost of the candidate’s expenditure would be counted till the counting.

Even the colours and sweets used by the candidates’ supporters after winning the election would be added to the poll expenditure.

Even as candidates may not be aware of their actual expenditure, as per the papers submitted to the election commission till the campaigning ended on February 2, their expenditure is well under the limit.

As per the expenditure papers submitted by candidates, Congress and AAP are on top followed by SAD.

In the city, Congress party candidate Manpreet Badal has spent Rs 14.33 lakh, SAD candidate Sarup Chand Singla has spent Rs 10.66 lakh, AAP candidate Deepak Bansal has spent Rs 9.12 lakh, APP candidate Jatinder Rai Khattar has spent Rs 2.76 lakh, independent candidate Satish Kumar has spent Rs 1.71 lakh, BSP candidate Suresh Kumar has spent Rs 97,000, Hindustan Shakti Sena candidate Sukhchain Singh has spent Rs 93,000, SAD (A) candidate Harvinder Singh has spent Rs 75,750, Democratic Swaraj Party candidate Gian Chand Bansal has spent Rs 39,400, Shivsena candidate Parveen has spent Rs 39,800, Bhajun Mukti Party candidate Shant Lal has spent Rs 22,960, Jai Jawan Jai Kisan party candidate Hardeep Sharma spent has Rs 14,920 and independent candidate Bimla Rani has spent Rs 7,000 on campaigning.

On Bathinda (Rural), AAP candidate Rupinder Ruby has spent Rs 12.37 lakh, Congress candidate Harvinder Laddi has spent Rs 9.51 lakh, SAD candidate Amit Rattan has spent Rs 9.3 lakh, CPI candidate Surjit Singh has spent Rs 2.52 lakh, TMC’s Jagtar Singh has spent Rs 2.38 lakh, BSP candidate Davinderpal has spent Rs 1.25 lakh and APP candidate Jaswinder Gill has spent Rs 82,721.

On Bhucho seat, AAP candidate Jagsir Singh has spent Rs 6.58 lakh, TMC candidate Surinder Soni has spent Rs 5.30 lakh, Congress candidate Pritam Singh Kotbhai has spent Rs 4.88 lakh, SAD candidate Harpreet Singh has spent Rs 4.38 lakh and independent candidate Kiranjit Singh Gehri has spent Rs 3.42 lakh. 

In Rampura, Congress candidate Gurpreet Singh Kangar has spent Rs 12.37 lakh, SAD candidate Sikander Singh Maluka has spent Rs 9.35 lakh, AAP candidate Manjit Singh Sidhu has spent Rs 8.38 lakh, independent candidate Gurpreet Singh has spent Rs 6.9 lakh and another independent candidate Gurpreet Singh has spent Rs 1.20 lakh.

On Talwandi Sabo seat, SAD candidate Jeetmohinder Singh Sidhu has spent Rs 10.19 lakh, AAP candidate Baljinder Kaur has spent Rs 9.41 lakh, Congress candidate Khushbaz Singh Jattana has spent Rs 7.38 lakh, BSP candidate Harjinder Singh has spent Rs 4.88 lakh and APP candidate Varinder Singh has spent Rs 2.60 lakh.

On Maur seat, AAP candidate Jagdev Singh has spent Rs 12.83 lakh, SAD candidate Janmeja Singh Sekho has spent Rs 11.11 lakh, Congress candidate Harmander Jassi has spent Rs 6.85 lakh, independent candidate Sukhraj Singh Natt has spent Rs 6.33 lakh and TMC candidate has spent Rs 2.8 lakh.
