Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra on Saturday said International Anti-Drug Day would be observed in the district on June 26.
As per a press release issued here, the DC said people would pledge against drug abuse before taking out rallies to spread awareness about the issue in different parts of the district.
During the event, those who have got rid of the drug addiction will persuade others, who are still addicted to drugs, to follow in their footsteps, he added.
The DC said to sensitise people, rallies, street plays and seminars would be organised in the district.
The district-level event will be held at the Multi-Purpose Sports Stadium here. DAPO volunteers, Guardians of Governance, representatives of the drug abuse prevention monitoring committee and NGOs will play a key role in these events.
‘Rallies to be taken out’
