The Election Commission of India has deputed seven election observers for the district with a view to keep a tab on all activities related to the Assembly elections scheduled for February 4.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today said the commission had appointed three general, three expenditure and one police observer to check all poll-related exercises being carried out by political parties.
He said the election observers would hold meetings with different teams, including static surveillance, flying squads, video viewing and police officers, to take stock of the ongoing activities, security and other poll-related measures.
The Deputy Commissioner said that all observers would remain in the city till the election process was over.
If anyone has any doubt regarding the expenditure of any candidate, he/she can approach these observers and register their concern, he added.
Thori said PG Singsit (IPS) had been appointed observer for all six constituencies with mobile number 83608-64399 and 98761-98035 and email [email protected].
