Farmer booked for stubble burning

BATHINDA: A farmer has been booked for burning wheat stubble and violating the orders of the District Magistrate. Ajmer Singh, a resident of Kaurena village, has been booked under Section 188 at the Talwandi Sabo police station.

Illicit liquor seized

A case of liquor smuggling from Haryana has been registered in the district.

The police have recovered 516 bottles of illicit liquor made in Haryana.

The police stopped a car for checking at Rudlu Singhwala village. During the search, illicit liquor was recovered from Balkaran Singh, Mela Singh and an unidentified person.

A case under Sections of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused at the Sangat police station. — TNS
