Five booked, 1 held with stolen car

BATHINDA: The Kotwali police arrested a member of a gang allegedly involved in selling stolen vehicles further by changing their chasis number and by making fake registration papers.

The Kotwali police arrested a member of a gang allegedly involved in selling stolen vehicles further by changing their chasis number and by making fake registration papers. The police have also recovered a car from his possession.

Kotwali SHO Davinder Singh said the police had got a tip-off in this regard.

The police have registered a case against Manjit Singh, a resident of Kotfatta, Hardeep Singh of Goniana, Parvinder Kumar of Malout, Jagroop Singh of Ablu and Prithpal Singh of Bathinda, along with a few unidentified persons.

The police have arrested Jagroop Singh with a car stolen from Delhi. The Handiaya police had arrested Hardeep Singh, who had given a tip-off about his associates.
