Foetus found dumped in Sirhind canal

BATHINDA: The Canal Colony police today booked unidentified persons for dumping a foetus in the Sirhind canal near Behman Diwana village.

The Canal Colony police today booked unidentified persons for dumping a foetus in the Sirhind canal near Behman Diwana village.

According to police sources, the foetus was recovered in a very bad condition. A board of doctors examined it at the Civil Hospital, Bathinda, after which a case was registered under Section 318 of the Indian Penal Code.

Sarabjeet Singh, a resident of Janta Nagar, spotted the foetus in the canal and called the police.

Kulwinder Singh, station house officer of the Canal Colony police station, said they had started a probe and the accused would be nabbed soon. DNA samples of the foetus have also been taken.
