BATHINDA: Four persons were injured in a clash between two groups at Kali Mata Mandir near the Model Town area here on Saturday.

Bathinda, June 23

Four persons were injured in a clash between two groups at Kali Mata Mandir near the Model Town area here on Saturday. The injured were admitted to the Civil Hospital. However, the police are yet to register a case.

The groups exchanged heated arguments, which took an ugly when they damaged a car. The exact reason behind the scuffle is yet to be known. The police said they were investigating the matter.

Bhupinder Pathak, the brother of one of the victims, said, “The police took away the priest from the temple and my brother was beaten up by members of a group. We have brought the matter to the notice of the police, but nothing has been done.”

On the other hand, Pramod Sharma, a member of the other group, said, “Sandeep Pathak and his brother have assaulted us. They brought unidentified people along with them and threatened us.”

Rashpal Singh, Station House Officer, of the Civil Lines police station, said, “Two groups clashed with each other. We are still investigating the matter and recording statements of both parties.” — TNS
