Bathinda, February 21

It has been over four months since 13-year-old Agam Talwar lost his life after being crushed by a speeding car on the main road in Patel Nagar on October 13 last year.

The cantonment police have almost closed the probe in the matter as the police have failed to find any clue of the accused driver and the white colour Swift car. The police had started a probe in this matter only with incomplete registration number (2323), which was noted by local residents.

The accident took place when the Swift car, allegedly being driven rashly, hit Agam who was cycling, killing him on the spot.

The cantonment police have been investigating the case after registering a case against an unidentified person under Section 304-A of the IPC on the statement of the victim’s father Sanjeev Talwar.

The only clue that the police have is the incomplete registration number (2323) of the car. The police have monitored CCTV footage installed at some nearby buildings, but have not found anything concrete. Even Agam’s family has shifted back to Jalandhar as Agam was the only son of the couple.

The police have approached the Transport Department to find the owner of the car.

SP (City) Gurmeet Singh said Narinder Kumar, newly appointed SHO of the cantonment police station, would lead the probe in this case now.
