Girls’ badminton team of technical varsity wins laurels

BATHINDA: The girls’ badminton team of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, participated in the All-India University (AIU) Badminton competition and brought laurels to the college.

The girls’ badminton team of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, participated in the All-India University (AIU) Badminton competition and brought laurels to the college. The AIU Badminton competition is being held at MDU, Rohtak, from October 17.

The team which comprises Palak Chopra, Kudrat Dumra, Lohita Gupta from GZSCCET, Bathinda and Ramandeep Kaur From AIIT-Rode, MOGA, won their first two matches by defeating Guru Jambehwar University, Hisar and Chowdhury Charan Singh University, Jind. However, the team has also qualified in the list of top eight teams.

“The All-India University Badminton competition is being held at MDU Rohtak since Monday where around 44 teams from the northern zone are participating. Our badminton team also participated in this competition and brought laurels for us,” said Professor Bhupinder Pal Singh Dhot, director, Sports and Youth Welfare, MRSPTU, while congratulating the team on their glorious victory. — TNS
