Bathinda, August 17
Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal today convened a meeting of the District Infrastructure Scheme Advisory Committee (DISHA) to review the ongoing works of the Central Government in Bathinda, Mansa and Muktsar districts.
She said earlier Disha was known as the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee. Disha covers 28 flagship programmes of the Government of India.
She directed the officers to ensure that utilisation certificates of all projects should be submitted as soon as possible.
She said the Swachh Bharat Misison was among the most coveted projects of the Government of India and its main aim was to ensure cleaner surroundings and development of the nation.
She also reviewed the National Social Assistance Programme and directed that the people living below poverty line should be given pensions on time.
Under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), the officers were directed to ensure that their requirements reach head offices on time.
She also directed that special care should be taken of the needs of children, expecting mothers and nursing mothers.
She reviewed the health services of all three districts under the National Health Mission.
Similarly, the works of government schools under the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan were also reviewed.
Besides, she assessed the works of the National Rural Livelihood Mission, National Skill Development Mission, Food Supply Department, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sarak Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Sinchai Yojana. — TNS
