Last date for applying subsidy on green manure seeds is April 25

The Punjab government is providing subsidy for improving the health of the soil by using green manure seeds. Giving this information here on Thursday, DC Diprava Lakra said the farmers seeking subsidy could submit their applications at the block or circle offices of the Agriculture Department before April 25.

He added each farmer would get subsidy on 100 kg of seed for maximum two hectares. The DC said the cost of the seed was Rs 6,980 whereas the farmers would pay only Rs 4,980.

Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Guraditta Singh said the pro forma for same could be collected from the Agriculture Department’s office or could be downloaded from www.agripb.gov.in.

“The application should be attested by the sarpanch or nambardar or councillor and be submitted at the department’s office by 5 pm. The last date of submitting the application is April 25. Along with the application, a copy of Aadhaar card is a must,” he added.— TNS
