Meeting on income tax awareness

BATHINDA: On the directions of the Income Tax Department, Amritsar wing, the local Income Tax Department today held an income tax awareness meeting with the registrars, deputy registrars, senior post master, cooperative banks, jewellers and district transport officials at the income tax office.

On the directions of the Income Tax Department, Amritsar wing, the local Income Tax Department today held an income tax awareness meeting with the registrars, deputy registrars, senior post master, cooperative banks, jewellers and district transport officials at the income tax office.

The meeting was headed by Sandeep Dahiya, income tax director, Chandigarh, in which, he stated that the motive behind this meeting was to apprise these people of the finances.

Income tax director Sandeep Dahiya said the last date to submit the statement of financial was June 30, 2017, but due to one or the other reason the department concerned and traders had not filed it on time.

As a result, the date of submission of this was extended till December 8 and if anyone still had not filed these, then he would be penalised Rs 500 per day.

Income tax director Sandeep Dahiya said if anyone had given wrong and incomplete information, then he would be fined Rs 50,000 as penalty.
