Miscreants loot Rs 90K from man

BATHINDA: Snatching incidents are again on the rise in the city as a rucksack containing Rs 90,000 was stolen by two motorcycle-borne snatchers from near the Truck Union area this afternoon.

Snatching incidents are again on the rise in the city as a rucksack containing Rs 90,000 was stolen by two motorcycle-borne snatchers from near the Truck Union area this afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Raghav, a resident of Jaitu in Faridkot district. He was carrying the money that was to be handed over to someone else. The victim called the Police Control Room, but refused to record his statement saying that he was yet to come out of the trauma of the incident.

Police officials said the victim alighted from a bus and was carrying a rucksack on his back in which the money was kept.

He informed the police that the two boys on a motorcycle first hit him with their vehicle and then took away the rucksack containing the money.

Later, officials from the Civil Lines police station reached the spot. The police said the matter was still under investigation.

No case has been registered till the filing of the report.
